Focal Points are EBSA designated subject matter experts (SME), who are the first point of contact for their topic(s). They cover are areas that are considered important from an EBSA perspective and/or a biosafety / biosecurity perspective. They provide advice to Council and may represent EBSA in specialist fora, where necessary and provide information on the subject to the membership via the EBSA website. Focal points can initiate new projects in their area of expertise and identified by EBSA as a subject of great importance for the membership At the moment EBSA has the following focal points:
- ISO TC 212 WG 5 Biorisk (Toon de Kesel)
Representing EBSA in the development and maintenance process of Biorisk management system (BRMS) documents and the Biorisk Management Advisor (BRMA) documents. - BTWC/CBRN (TBC)
Represents EBSA's interests at international BTWC/CBRN meetings and in related initiatives
